Instructions to the candidates for applying Eligibility Certificate Online

 

 

What is Eligibility Certificate?

 

 

Candidates who have passed any qualifying examination other than the Higher Secondary Course examination conducted by the Government of Tamil Nadu shall obtain an eligibility certificate from the University.

 

 

Under Graduate (UG)

 

 

A candidate who has passed their +2 course from the Board of Higher Secondary Examination, Government of Tamil Nadu is not required to obtain Eligibility Certificate from this University.

 

i.e. the candidates those who have studied through any other State Board of Examination other than Board of Higher Secondary School of Examination, Government of Tamil Nadu need to get an Eligibility Certificate if they wish to join in this University or its affiliated institutions. The Eligibility Certificate needs to be submitted to the institutions at the time of joining the course.

 

 

Post Graduate (PG)

 

 

A candidate who has completed their course (UG/PG/Diploma) from other University and wish to join this University or its affiliated institutions needs to submit the Eligibility Certificate to the institutions at the time of joining the course.

Vocational Stream

The candidates those who have passed +2 examination under Vocational Stream are not eligible to join in any Medical, Dental, Indian Medicine & Homoeopathy and Allied Health Science Courses.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

 

 

M.B.B.S.

 

 

For admission to M.B.B.S. Degree Course the candidate must have individually passed English, Physics, Chemistry & Biology.

 

 

(a) O.C : Minimum of 60% of marks in Biology or Botany & Zoology taken together. 60% of marks in each subject viz.,Physics and Chemistry. Aggregate should not be less than 140 out of 200.

 

 

(b) B.C. : Minimum of 60% of marks in Biology or Botany & Zoology taken together. 60% of marks in each subject viz.,Physics and Chemistry. Aggregate should not be less than 130 out of 200.

 

 

(c) M.B.C : Minimum of 55% of marks in Biology or Botany & Zoology taken together. 55% of marks in each subject viz.,Physics and Chemistry. Aggregate should not be less than 120 out of 200.

 

 

(d)SC/ST : Minimum of 40% of marks in Biology or Botany & Zoology taken together.40% of marks in each subject viz., Physics and Chemistry. Aggregate should not be less than 80 out of 200.

 

 

BDS

 

 

1. The Candidate shall have obtained not less than 50% of the aggregate marks Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together at the qualifying examination.

 

 

2. Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe students shall be given relaxation of 10% in the aggregate marks required for eligibility.

 

 

MDS

 

 

Candidates for admission to the first year M.D.S. Post Graduate Degree Course shall be required to possess the following qualifications :

 

 

He/She having qualified for the B.D.S. degree of this University or any other University recognised as equivalent thereto by the authority of this University and the Dental Council of India and obtained permanent registration from any of the State Dental Councils.

 

 

INDIAN MEDICINE & HOMOEOPATHY DEGREE COURSES

 

 

B.S.M.S/B.A.M.S/B.U.M.S/B.N.Y.S/B.H.M.S

 

 

a. Candidates belonging to all categories of admission to the Indian Medicine and Homoeopathy Degree Courses should have passed the Higher Secondary Course Examination (Academic Stream) after a period of 12 years study with the following subjects: physics, Chemistry and Biology/ Botany and Zoology.

 

 

b. Candidates who have studied abroad and have passed the equivalent qualifications as determined by the Associations of Indian Universities will form the guidance to determine the eligibility and must have passed in the subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany/ Zoology) and English up to 12th Standard level.

 

 

Candidates who have passed the Senior Secondary School Examination of National open School with a minimum of 5 subjects with any of the following group subjects:

 

 

a) English, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology.

 

b) English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and any other language.

 

 

c) No candidate shall be allowed to be admitted to the Indian Medicine and Homoeopathy courses until he/she has completed the age of 17 years on or before the 31st December of the academic year in which the candidate is seeking admission.

 

 

d) For admission to Indian Medicine and Homoeopathy courses the candidate must have passed in English, Physics, Chemistry & Biology. The Eligibility criteria for community wise is an given below:-

 

 

(a) O.C : A Minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in the Science subjects(viz.) Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Botany and Zoology.

 

 

(b) B.C  : A Minimum of 45% marks in aggregate in the Science subjects(viz.) Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Botany and Zoology.

 

 

(c) M.B.C : A Minimum of 40% marks in aggregate in the Science Subjects (viz.) Namely Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Botany and Zoology.

 

 

(d) SC/ST: A Minimum of 35% marks in aggregate in the Science Subjects (viz.) Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Botany and Zoology.

 

 

B.Sc.(N)

 

 

(i)   No candidate shall be allowed to be admitted to the B.Sc (Nursing) Degree Course until he/she has completed the age of 17 years on or before the 31st December of the academic year in which the candidate is seeking admission. The maximum age limit for admission to B.Sc.(Nursing) is 30 years. The maximum age shall however be raised to 35 years for SC/ST candidates.

 

 

(ii)  Candidates belonging to all categories except Schedule Caste / Schedule Tribes for admission to the B.Sc (Nursing) course must have obtained individual pass marks in English, Physics, Chemistry & Biology or Botany & Zoology both in theory and practical with a minimum of 35% marks .Not less than 40% aggregate marks in the above subjects is mandatory at the qualifying examination(Academic Stream) after a period of 12 years of study ie. 10+2 pattern of education.

 

 

(iii) Candidates belonging to Schedule Castes/ Schedule Tribes must have obtained individual pass marks in English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Botany & Zoology both in theory and practical with a minimum of 35% marks and not less than 35% aggregate marks in the above subjects.

 

 

Post Basic B.Sc.(N)

 

 

a) Passed the Higher Secondary or Senior Secondary or Intermediate or 10+2 or an equivalent examination recognized by the University for this purpose.

 

 

b) Obtained a certificate in General Nursing and Midwifery and registered as R.N.R.M.with the Tamil Nadu State Nurses Registration Council.

 

 

B.Pharm

 

 

(i) No candidate shall be allowed to be admitted to the B.Pharmacy degree course until he/she has completed the age of 17 years on or before the 31st December of the academic year in which the candidate is seeking admission.

 

 

(ii) Candidates belonging to all categories except Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribes for admission to the B. Pharmacy course must have obtained individual pass marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology or Botany & Zoology or Mathematics both in theory and practical with a minimum of 35% marks. Not less than 40% aggregate marks in the above subjects is mandatory at the qualifying examination (Academic Stream) after a period of 12 years of study i.e. 10+2 pattern of education.

 

 

(iii) Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes must have obtained individual pass marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Botany & Zoology or Mathematics both in theory and practical with a minimum of 35% marks and not less than 35% aggregate marks in the above subjects.

 

 

(iv) A pass in English with a minimum of 35% marks is mandatory for all categories for admission to the course.

 

 

(v) Candidates who have passed the Senior Secondary School Examination of National open School with a minimum of 5 subjects with any of the following group subjects:

 

a) English, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology.

b) English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and any other language.

 

 

B.Pharm Lateral Entry:

 

 

Qualification For admission into Direct II year B. Pharmacy course through lateral entry.

 

 

a) Should have aggregate of 40% marks in the first and second year D.Pharmacy Examination with a pass in H.S.C. (or) equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology) or Mathematics.

(OR)

 

 

b) The candidate shall have obtained not less than 40% of the aggregate marks in Physics Chemistry and Biology or Botany & Zoology or Mathematics taken together at the Higher Secondary School examination or equivalent examination and pass in two years Diploma in Pharmacy course.

 

 

c) Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribe students shall be given relaxation of 5% in the aggregate marks required for eligibility.

 

 

d) A pass in English with a minimum of 35% marks is mandatory for all categories for admission to the course.

 

 

Pharm D:

 

 

The duration of the course shall be six academic years (Five years of study and one year of internship or residency).

 

 

(i) No candidate shall be allowed to be admitted to the I Pharm.D degree Course until he/she has completed the age of 17 years on or before the 31st December of the academic year in which the candidate is seeking admission.

 

 

(ii) Candidates belonging to all categories except Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribes for admission to the Pharm.D degree course must have obtained individual pass marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology or Botany & Zoology or Mathematics both in theory and practical with a minimum of 35% marks. Not less than 50% aggregate marks in the above subjects is mandatory at the qualifying examination (Academic Stream) after a period of 12 years of study i.e. 10+2 pattern of education.

 

 

(iii) Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes must have obtained individual pass marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Botany & Zoology or Mathematics both in theory and practical with a minimum of 35% marks and not less than 40% aggregate marks in the above subjects.

 

 

(iv) A pass in English with a minimum of 35% marks is mandatory for all categories for admission to the course.

 

 

B.P.T. :

 

 

a. Candidates belonging to all categories of admission to the Bachelor of Physiotherapy course should have passed the Higher Secondary Course Examination (Academic Stream) after a period of 12 years of study with the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Botany and Zoology.

 

 

b. Candidates who have studied abroad and have passed the equivalent qualifications as determined by the Associations of Indian Universities will form the guidance to determine the eligibility and must have passed in the subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany/Zoology) and English up to 12th Standard level.

 

 

c. Candidates who have passed the senior Secondary School Examination of National Open School with a minimum of 5 subjects with any of the following group subjects:

Pharm D. Post Bacculerate:

 

 

Eligibility Criteria for IV Pharm D(Post Baccalaureate) degree course

 

 

Candidates for admission to fourth year of the Pharm D degree course shall be required to have passed the B.Pharmacy degree of this University or any other University recognized as equivalent thereto by the authority of this University.

 

 

Post Graduate Diploma/Degree Course:

 

 

Candidates for admission to the first year Post Graduate Diploma / Degree Courses shall be required to possess the following qualifications :

 

He/She having qualified for the MBBS degree of this University or any other University recognised as equivalent thereto by the authority of this University and the Indian Medical Council and obtained permanent registration from any of the State Medical Councils.

M.Sc.(Nursing)

 

The candidates should have

 

(1) Passed the qualification of B.Sc. (Nursing) degree of this University or any other University accepted as equivalent there to.

 

(2) Should have registered with the State Registration Council of Nursing and Midwifery.

 

(3) B.Sc.(Nursing) graduates should have one year of experience in teaching hospital or in a College or in School of Nursing or in Community Health Programme after registration in State Nursing Council.

 

(4) Minimum one year of work experience prior or after Post Basic B.Sc. (Nursing)

 

(5) B.Sc.(Nursing) & Post Basic B.Sc.(Nursing) with minimum of 55% aggregate marks. 5% relaxation of marks for SC/ ST candidate.

 

(6) In case of male candidates they should have passed any other course recommended by the Indian Nursing Council in place of Midwifery. Those who have studied Midwifery are eligible for admission to Branch III and IV.

 

(7) Every candidate before admission to this course shall submit to the Principal of the institution a certificate of Medical Fitness from an authorized Medical Officer that the candidate is physically fit to undergo the Academic Programme.

 

M.Pharmacy

 

Candidates for admission to first year of the M. Pharmacy Post Graduate degree course shall be required to have passed the B.Pharmacy degree of this University or any other University recognized as equivalent thereto by the authority of this University.

 

M.P.T.

 

A candidate who has passed the Bachelor of Physiotherapy Degree Course of this University or any other University recognized as equivalent thereto by the authority of this University.

Candidates who have passed BPT Examination from other than the “The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University” except AnnamalaiUniversity shall obtain an eligibility certificate from this University by remitting the prescribed fees along with the application form before seeking admission to any one of the affiliated institution.

NOTE: Incomplete form will not be accepted.

 

The fees paid for the Eligibility Certificate will not be refunded under any circumstances.

 

· No action will be taken unless the relevant original Certificate is produced and prescribed fee is received by this University

 

· Eligibility Certificate will not be issued personally to the candidate. The same will be sent by Registered post to the address mentioned in the Online Eligible Certificate application.

 

· After successful verification, the University will despatch the Eligibility certificate & all relevant original Certificate only by post to the address provided in application form within three working days.
